ABOUT RORY
The salon is a testament to his years of experience, talent, and passion for the industry. Rory’s talent revealed itself in his early teens when at the age of 14, he worked at the local salon on weekends and school holidays.
He completed his apprenticeship with Dave & Johan and remained with the iconic Johannesburg franchise for another 10 years. During this time, he broadened his horizons and influences by travelling to London, where he qualified with Toni & Guy.
Back in SA, he was made Creative Artistic Director of Dave & Johan. As such, Rory was responsible for all competitions, promotions, and artistic decisions. He was behind some hugely successful in-house launches, as well as events for Redken. At this time, he also worked closely with a burgeoning local film industry.
